Today's membranes are extremely thin and have a complex nanostructure. The methods of nanotechnology, in particular, development and characterization of nanomaterials and nanoscale molecular interactions are of direct relevance to our research and help unravel separation mechanisms and develop new-generation membranes.
Our research focuses on various aspects of membrane technology, water and energy. This fundamentals of transport mechanisms and selectivity of membranes, development of novel membranes, advanced materials and polymers, surface modification, fouling phenomena including biofouling and bacterial deposition, and advanced characterization methods.
